Drug Action Week:

New interactive website launches Drug Action Week

Getting involved in Drug Action Week 2008 (June 22-28) is even easier this year with the launch of an all-new interactive website.

The website at www.drugactionweek.org.au brings together a comprehensive range of information, promotional tools and a National Calendar of Activities which is easily accessible by individuals or groups wanting to take part in an activity during Drug Action Week. In a first this year a free promotional pack will also be supplied to organisers, to help highlight their activity.

Another incentive for organisers is the inaugural snapshot photographic competition, which provides a creative opportunity of drawing attention to the issues surrounding drug and alcohol abuse.

“We have worked hard this year to make sure we support individuals and communities aiming to organise an activity for Drug Action Week,” said Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia (ADCA) Chief Executive Officer David Templeman, “Our new interactive website will act as a hub for the various activities staged across the nation during Drug Action Week.”

Coordinated by ADCA, Drug Action Week aims to raise awareness about alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues, and highlight the achievements of people who work in the frontline of the AOD sector.

ADCA is aiming to make this the best Drug Action Week ever, with a host of engaging activities across the nation, capped off with the gala presentation of the National Drug and Alcohol Awards in Melbourne on Friday, 27 June.
