DRUG DRUG is the online database of the ADCA National Resource Centre. Started in 1987, it currently contains approximately 60,000 references to books, videos, journal articles, conference papers, research reports and unpublished materials on the health, social and economic aspects of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. DRUG is updated monthly with more than 300 additional references and all indexed material is held in the National Resource Centre. RMIT INFORMIT The NRC provides ADCA members access to RMIT Informit databases from Australasia’s leading agencies and institutions that index and abstract a vast range of Australasian sources of information. In addition to these database access is available to Australian Public Affairs - Full Text (APA-FT), an indexing and full text database that provides Internet access to the scanned images of journal articles from published material on the social sciences and humanities. Australian Public Affairs - Full Text is based on the journal indexing of the database Australian Public Affairs Information Service (APAIS), which is produced by the National Library of Australia and published by RMIT Publishing. ELECTRONIC JOURNALS via SWETSWISE The NRC provides ADCA members access to 40 full text electronic journals via the SwetsWise Electronic Journal gateway. ADCA members may contact the NRC for an "Athens" user name and password to access these journals from their desktop. In order to access electronic journals, members must sign an agreement to conditions of use. If you experience any difficulties please do not hesitate to contact us. HEALTH DATABASES via THOMSON GALE The NRC provides ADCA members access to two health databases, Health Reference Center Academic which includes full text of nursing and allied health journals, and Health & Wellness Resource Center, an encyclopedia-type health reference resource.
